Below you will find key artifacts I created throughout my journey in the MAET program. Each piece represents a milestone in my growth as an educator and reflects my ongoing commitment to designing meaningful, student-centered learning experiences.

To help you explore, the page is organized into two categories:

  • Creation – Projects that demonstrate my ability to design, build, and implement tools, lessons, and solutions in my classroom.

  • Reflection – Thoughtful explorations of my beliefs, challenges, and evolving practices as a teacher.

Media Use Remix

In this artifact, I demonstrate my ability to engage students in critical digital literacy, explore remix culture, and teach copyright and fair use in a meaningful way. I created this video to inspire students to think ethically and creatively when working with media. It serves as a model for how they can transform existing content legally and respectfully while developing their own voice as creators in a world driven by remix and virality.

Area of Parallelograms and Triangles

In this artifact, I demonstrate my ability to design interactive, playful math lessons for middle school learners. Using Genially, I created an engaging presentation that integrates visuals, animations, and exploratory tasks to help students internalize geometric area concepts. This lesson also reflects my commitment to making math feel fun, relevant, and meaningful.

Problem of Practice Testing Video

In this artifact, I demonstrate my ability to use the design thinking process to solve real classroom challenges, create student-centered systems, and analyze data for continuous improvement. This video walks through my digital workbook prototype that I designed to increase intrinsic motivation by giving students more choice, autonomy, and a mastery-based path through math. It reflects my deep reflection on student needs, my willingness to innovate, and my skill in creating flexible systems that empower learners while maintaining accountability.

Staff Technology Survey

In this artifact, I demonstrate my ability to design and iterate on a data-collection tool tailored to a professional setting. I created a staff survey to gauge interest in adopting digital markers using thoughtful question design, Likert scales, and demographic considerations to better understand attitudes toward educational technology. This artifact reflects my ability to apply survey methodology, analyze stakeholder perspectives, and gather actionable feedback to support meaningful tech integration in schools.

My Theory of Learning

In this artifact, I demonstrate my ability to synthesize educational theory, reflect deeply on my teaching values, and articulate a personal learning philosophy. I draw from sociocultural theory, constructivism, and student-centered pedagogy to explain how learning happens best through meaningful connections, exploration, and empowerment. This theory serves as a foundation for the choices I make in my classroom, from lesson design to the way I build relationships with students.

Expanding My Assessment Toolbox

In this artifact, I demonstrate my ability to critically evaluate assessment practices, explore alternative approaches, and prioritize feedback over grading. I reflect on how traditional tests can limit student growth and highlight strategies like self-assessment, peer feedback, and low-stakes check-ins that make learning more transparent and equitable. This piece showcases my growth in creating a classroom culture where assessment supports learning rather than sorting.

Wicked Problem Project

In this artifact, I demonstrate my ability to tackle complex, real-world educational challenges using research, empathy, and systems thinking. I explored the "wicked problem" of fostering intrinsic motivation in middle school math students and proposed a human-centered approach grounded in relevance, autonomy, and emotional safety. This project illustrates my strengths in inquiry, innovation, and designing classroom change with student voices at the center.

Networked Learning Project

In this artifact, I demonstrate my ability to use online resources, collaborative communities, and digital tools to support self-directed learning. I chose a personal goal—learning how to hit my driver in golf—and documented my process through blogs, videos, and reflection. This playful but powerful project highlights my belief that learning is lifelong and nonlinear, and it models the type of curiosity and perseverance I aim to cultivate in my students.
